Buying a property? Be sure a property is free from termites with a professional pre purchase termite inspection! The signs of a termite infestation can be so subtle that you never see them until it’s too late. Then you find a chewed-out hole in your moulding, a rafter collapses.
When it gets to that point, you’re looking at thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of dollars in damage. And we get it, those kind of funds are hard to find!
Instead of placing your home at risk, why not get a termite inspection? That’s one appointment you don’t want to put off and will save you a whole heap of stress and worry. Even if the inspection uncovers a nest of termites, treatment can rid your home of them permanently. The cost of treatment is far less significant than that after the damage has occurred.

The first step is a thorough inspection – meaning we will then provide you with an estimate of costs to treat the termites. A treatment can be carried out at the first visit (which we strongly recommend).
Here at Suncoast Pest Solutions, for your peace of mind, we offer a free follow up inspection within 14 days of the initial treatment to ensure the termite treatment was a success. On occasions, dependent on the size of the infestation, follow up treatments may be recommended. We will advise you of this at the time of the follow up inspection.
Annual Termite Inspections
An Annual Timber Pest inspection is extremely important for checking your home for active termites, borers, fungal wood decay and termite damage. We recommend an inspection be carried out annually. For properties with previous termite infestation, you may choose to conduct these inspections on a more regular basis until it is determined that the termites are completely eradicated.
Its not just an inspection but also a risk assessment for conducive conditions; conditions that attract termites. Our experienced timber pest inspector will scope out the entire property including and not limited to, The internal and external areas of the property, the grounds of the property up to 50m, roof void and subfloor.
You will be provided with a full comprehensive termite inspection report that is to the Australian Standard Code 3660.2. The report will set out any conditions that may encourage termites into your home or onto your property, will identify any previous termite damage and of course deal with any active termites that have been located during inspection.
The report will include photographs and recommendations of what we would suggest to prevent termite damage to your home or property. Of course, commercial buildings and office premises still require the same inspections as your residential property as they are of the same risk as your home.
Termite Inspections generally take 1.5-2 hrs depending on the properties size.
What Areas Are Inspected?
INTERNAL INSPECTION & ROOF
Our highly qualified timber pest inspector will sound all skirting boards, windowsills, door frames, inside the kitchen and bathroom cupboards and architraves. Then, we check moisture levels on all walls and wet areas e.g bathrooms and toilets. We don’t stop there (nor should any inspector), we get up in the roof and do a full visual inspection focusing on roofing timber e.g roof trusses and bearers.
EXTERNAL INSPECTION & SUBFLOOR
Outside of the property, we do a full visual inspection around the house looking for termite activity, conducive conditions and wood decay. We do a thorough inspection around the grounds and fence lines making sure nothing gets missed.
WHAT IF TERMITES ARE FOUND DURING INSPECTION?
It’s quite common for termites to be found during a routine inspection. If we do find active termites during the inspection, we strongly advise to treat the termites immediately. If immediate treatment is not undertaken, there is a risk that the termites will cause severe damage to your house, often before you can visually see any signs of termite damage.
Suncoast Pest Solutions have all the necessary tools and chemicals on board to carry out any termite treatments to eradicate the colony.
What Happens Next?
Once the Inspection has been completed, our technician will advise you of any serious problems you may have, and you will receive a full written report in compliance with the Australian Standards 3660.2.
We will also advise you in the report on any out of date treatments/barriers in place and give genuine advice on a system that is well suited for your property type.
